Candle Care & Safety

At Bee'Lyte Candles, every candle is carefully hand-poured in the UK using premium beeswax, coconut oil and expertly blended essential oils. To help you enjoy the best fragrance, longest burn time and safest experience possible, we recommend following the care and safety guidance below.

First Burn Matters

The first burn sets the foundation for the life of your candle.Allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface before extinguishing. This usually takes between 2–4 hours, depending on the size of the candle.Doing so helps prevent tunnelling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle's lifetime.

Trim Your Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 5mm (¼ inch).A properly trimmed wick will:
• Produce a cleaner burn
• Reduce soot and smoke
• Prevent excessive flickering
• Extend the life of your candle

Recommended Burn Time

For best performance, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
Allow the wax to cool and solidify completely before relighting.

Candle Safety

To enjoy your candle safely, always:• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Keep away from children and pets
• Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface
• Keep away from curtains, fabrics and flammable materials
• Avoid burning near draughts, fans or open windows
• Keep the wax free from wick trimmings, matches and debris

When To Stop Burning

Discontinue use when approximately 1cm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.
Burning beyond this point may cause the glass vessel to overheat.

Extinguishing Your Candle

For the cleanest experience, extinguish your candle using a candle snuffer.
If blowing out the flame, do so gently to avoid splashing hot wax.
Never use water to extinguish a candle.

Reuse Your Candle Jar

Our premium glass vessels are designed to be reused.Once your candle has finished:
1. Allow any remaining wax to cool.
2. Remove leftover wax and wick tabs.
3. Wash with warm soapy water.
4. Reuse as a storage jar, planter, desk organiser or decorative container.
